Risky affair as power lines hang loose in Boruma, Kisii County

Power lines in Boruma, Kisii County

  • Locals told Citizen Digital that the lines have been hanging loosely for weeks.
  • Residents have urged Kenya Power to address the matter.

Residents in Boruma, Kisii County have called for the fixing of loosely-hanging power lines.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, locals appealed to Kenya Power to help address the issue.

“The power lines pose a great risk since there is a flurry of activities around the market area,” a businessman at Riakegesa market said.

Pictures seen by Citizen Digital show the power mast in a bad state, nearby splitting into two halves.

It is reported that the lines have been in the sorry state for weeks now, despite the numerous calls made to Kenya Power offices.

The line supplies power to a home adjacent to the market, extending the risk to nearby homes.
“We hope Kenya Power engineers will help avert the impending danger that we are staring at,” another resident added.
