Search for woman who dumped newborn baby in Kajiado

Police are searching for a woman who dumped her newborn baby in Kajiado County.

Kajiado Central police commander Daudi Loronyokwe said the infant was spotted by children who were playing at Saina area.

"The baby girl was found wrapped in a blanket. Children who were playing in the area raised the alarm, prompting locals to rush to the scene," police said.

The newborn is undergoing treatment at Kajiado Referral Hospital as the search for its mother intensifies.

"We will file charges against the mother once arrested. We are following leads in order to establish her whereabouts," police noted.

Police are working jointly with local chiefs and the area nyumba kumi representatives in the operation.
