Shock as church elder dies in a lodging in Kericho

Police in Kericho are probing an incident where a 60-year-old man was found dead in a lodging.

The body of David Kiplangat Ronoh, an elder in a local church, was found in the lodging at Kapsoit trading centre.

Belgut sub county police commander Charles Kibati said that the deceased was in the company of an unidentified young woman.

“He was found dead with no visible injuries. He had no clothes at the time,” police said.

The woman is said to have reported the matter to the establishment’s management before fleeing the premises.

Police officers from Kapsoit added that a used condom was found at the scene.

Meanwhile, a search has been mounted for the runaway woman as investigations continue.

The body of the deceased has been taken to Kericho County Referral Hospital mortuary awaiting autopsy.
