A suspected thug has been subjected to mob justice in Mwea-West, Kirinyaga County.
The suspect is linked to the death of a resident in Kagio who witnesses said was hit with a stone.
"The victim succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday while receiving treatment at Murang'a hospital," a resident told Citizen Digital.
Police officers from Kiamaciri said the suspect is believed to be part of a gang that has been terrorizing residents in Kagio.
"The gang has been mugging residents. They also break into shops, robbing traders in the process," another resident said.
The body of the deceased was taken to Kerugoya Hospital mortuary.
