A Nairobi bound matatu on Monday rammed a pillar of a building housing a famous club at Kenol town, in Murang’a county, injuring three passengers.

According to one of the passengers, the shuttle was being driven by a conductor when it lost control and hit the pillar.

“A man entered the vehicle and made as if to move it to a different spot, only to lose control and hit the building,” said one the passengers.

The vehicle which had travelled from Maragwa, had only three passengers inside when the incident happened.

The passengers sustained minor injuries.

“The vehicle left Maragwa town without any issues. It was only upon reaching here that this happened. I have injured my leg and hand,” said a female passenger who had sat just behind the driver’s seat.

The impact left sections of the vehicle destroyed, with the door completely pulled off. No one in the building was injured.

Police arrived at the scene moments later to assess the situation.
