Woman, child escape death narrowly as fire razes house in Kisii

A woman and her child escaped death by a whisker following a fire incident in Nyaribari Chache, Kisii County.

The fire, which was started by a candle that was left unattended, destroyed property of unknown value.

A police report seen by Citizen Digital showed that the two were asleep at the time.

The two were rescued from the fire, thanks to the swift action by their neighbors.

"The rescue efforts were led by bodaboda operators from Keumbu, who rushed to the scene," police said.

No injuries were reported following the night fire.
