Dismissing his predecessor Rigathi Gachagua, Kindiki urged citizens to “ignore those prophesying violence in those elections.”
“Their prophecy of doom is informed by unpatriotism and political inexperience,” said the Deputy President in an event at Teso North, Busia County.
Kindiki’s rebuttal follows remarks from former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, who warned of possible violence should President William Ruto rig the 2027 elections.
During an interview with Obinna TV, Gachagua argued that if the election is rigged, Kenya would witness violence more than the one witnessed after the 2007 General Election where thousands were killed in the post-election violence.
While dismissing his predecessor, Kindiki also urged politicians to allow the Kenya Kwanza administration deliver its mandate instead of spending years in political rhetorics.
“We cannot be in perpetual campaign mood. Even the bible says there is a season for everything. This is the season for the government to deliver, those engaging in politics have nothing to offer to Kenyans,” he said.
He expressed government’s commitment to improving the cost of living and creating employment opportunities.
“As an administration, we remain focused on reducing the cost of living and stabilizing the economy, and our efforts are showing positive results. The Ksh is strong and currently, we are outperforming Ethiopia and Angola which previously were our fiercest competitors,” said Kindiki.
