Kenyan teenager Feiswal Bwamkuu has vowed to
follow footsteps of former La Berrichonne de Chateauroux FC legend Florent
Malouda by playing in top tier leagues in Europe as he eyes to join the third
tier French club on a permanent basis this month.
The Lamu-born footballer has impressed the club on
his three months trials earlier this year and is set for a professional
contract, terming it a dream come true in his football journey.
“I hope to follow on Malouda's ways because he
started his career here and llay in the top leagues especially Arsenal,” he
told Citizen Digital.
On the three months trial, the young star said he
gained a lot from it from adding football tactics and learning life skills.
“Their training sessions, facilities and
everything is world class giving a player a good performing environment, for
sure I am not the same Feiswal I was before trying with them."
Bwamkuu has at the same time called upon more
football scouts to visit the Kenyan coastal areas where a lot of talents remain
untapped.
He was spotted by French scouts during the Lamu
gubernatorial aspirant Umra Omar’s tournament, who contributed greatly to his
relocation to France.
"Lamu and Coast as a whole has got alot of
talents but the problem is having scouts who can identify the talents," he
added.
The French side finished fifth on the log with 55
points from 34 matches in the 18-team league.
La Berrichonne de Châteauroux, commonly referred
to as La Berrichonne or simply Châteauroux, is a French association football
club based in Châteauroux.
The football team is a part of a sports club that
consists of several other sports and was founded in 1916.
