The Chinese Embassy in Kenya has announced the cancellation of visa appointments for Kenyan citizens, effective November 20, 2023.

Kenyans will soon be able to make their visa applications online and directly submit them at the Chinese Visa Application Service Center in Nairobi.

According to the embassy, the move is aimed at streamlining the visa process for smoother exchanges between the two nations.

The embassy, in a notice dated Monday, November 13, outlined the importance of accurate form completion and encouraged applicants to submit their visa applications directly to the Chinese Visa Application Service Center in Nairobi during regular working hours.

Additionally, applicants with previously scheduled online appointments will receive priority, provided they present the confirmation page on the appointed date within the allocated time slot.

To ensure efficiency, the embassy further advised applicants to avoid peak-hour submissions, anticipating a potential surge in applications during certain periods.

Despite these changes, the embassy has however noted, that both processing times and fees will remain unchanged.

To secure a Chinese visa, applicants must follow a process including; completion of the visa application form, payment of the comprehensive visa processing fee encompassing service charges and embassy fees, and finally, the submission of the application.
