According to the family, the suspect allegedly lured Mohamed’s sister by giving her Ksh.20 to buy a sweet from a nearby shop.
When the girl left, the woman is said to have taken the opportunity to disappear with the toddler.
Three days later, Mohamed’s family continues to search tirelessly for their son, urging anyone with information about his whereabouts to report it to the nearest police station.
The family expressed deep concern, revealing that another child from their extended family was abducted last year and has never been found.
They are calling on the Kenya Police Service to expedite investigations into the matter and ensure that justice is served.
In their appeal, the family also urged the Kenyan government to review existing child adoption laws, alleging that some wealthy individuals, both locally and abroad, exploit the system to illegally acquire children under the guise of adoption.
Additionally, they encouraged property owners and investors to install CCTV cameras in residential areas to enhance security for tenants and residents.
The incident comes as schools remain closed for the long holidays — a period during which authorities have repeatedly warned parents to be extra vigilant, amid rising cases of child abduction and human trafficking across the country.
