Businessman and politician Bundotich Zedekiah Kiprop, alias Buzeki, has officially joined the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party.

Buzeki, who has been a fierce critic of President William Ruto’s administration, unsuccessfully ran for Uasin Gishu governorship twice.

He was on Thursday received at UDA headquarters, where he lauded President Ruto’s administration as transformative.

"Hatutaki kuwa fence sitters. Tunataka kuja penye uchumi imekolea. Na hatujakuja usiku, tumekuja mchana. Sasa hakuna kucheza home and away. Tunacheza home. Ni fire si fire. KBB ni Kiprop Bundotich Buzeki," he said.

"Tunakukaribisha hapa ni two term na sasa venye Buzeki amefika itakuwa two term tena,” said Hassan Omar, UDA Secretary General.

During the 2022 general elections, Buzeki unsuccessfully vied for the Uasin Gishu gubernatorial race, garnering 127,013 votes against incumbent Jonathan Bii who got 214,036.

At the time, he ran as an independent candidate under the moniker ‘Uongozi ni sera.’
