Form 3 student dies after colliding with schoolmate

A Form Three student at Kalungu Secondary School in Kibwezi, Makueni County died on Monday after he collided with his team mate while playing football.

Deputy County Commissioner Vitalis Ogur confirmed the incident saying the 18-year-old boy collapsed after colliding with his team’s goalkeeper.

He further said the boy was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at Kibwezi Amref Hospital.

Mr Oguru said officers are treating the incident as an accident as investigations into the cause of death continue.

“We are treating the incident as an accident in the mean time while we are waiting for more inquiry into the matter,” Oguru said.

The body of the deceased was moved to Kibwezi Funeral Home.
