KCB give coach 'Zico' thumbs up despite rut in form

KCB chairman Azu Ogola
says the club still has faith in head coach Zedekiah 'Zico' Otieno despite the club’s
worrying form in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League.
KCB who narrowly missed
out on the league crown last season were expected to pick from where they left
when the term kicked off but embarrassing performance in the second leg has
cost them the title.
The Zedekiah Otieno
coached side are placed eighth with 40 points, 16 shy of leaders Kakamega
Homeboyz and with five rounds remaining, it means that the team will have to
postpone their bid to claim the first major title.
Club boss Ogola in his
assessment said the team’s confidence had suffered a massive dent but it wasn’t
beyond repair.
"We are doing
everything right in training and on the pitch but I feel luck is against us,”
club chairman Ogola said, “ Football can be cruel sometimes and in our case it
is not different.”
“We only need to forget
about the past matches and believe that we will do better in the subsequent
ones. No amount of training will change our fortunes, confidence and team work
will do.
We have faith and
confidence in the technical bench. We are not going to sack the coach. We
talked last week and we are waiting to see how things turn out."
