Kenya Pipeline's hard-hitting attacker Pamela Adhiambo is over the moon after finally making the cut to Malkia Strikers 14-member squad for the African Games Zone V Qualifiers, which serves-off from January 26-28 in Cairo, Egypt.

And after several attempts, Adhiambo will now be donning the ten-time African champions' colours.

The 23-year-old has received several call-ups to the provisional squad but failed to make the cut to the final squad, including last year's African Cup of Nations, which saw Malkia reigned supreme to clinch the Olympic ticket.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, an elated Adhiambo reiterated that it was an honor that finally she was going to don the national team's colours.

"I'm elated to receive this call up, it caught me by surprise but I'm glad my hard work has finally paid off."

"It is a huge chance for me to show my quality and I intend to grab the opportunity. It is a great honor to represent the country and I can only hope for the best," added Adhiambo.

She will now jostle for a starting berth against captain Mercy Moim, Jemimah Siang'u and Julian Namutira.

Experienced libero Elizabeth Wanyama also makes a return to the fold after being in the cold for two years.

The two-time African best libero will be hoping to oust Agrippina Kundu from the first team and stamp her authority, a position she owned a few years back.

DCI's opposite hitter Mercy Iminza will be making her maiden appearance while KCB's libero Linzy Jeruto and Kenya Prisons outside hitter Pamela Masaisai were unlucky to be dropped.

The team jetted out of the county on Tuesday for the three-day extravaganza.
