Nairobi United FC have extended an open invitation to local schools and football academies to attend their CAF Confederation Cup Group B encounter against Azam FC this Sunday at Nyayo National Stadium.

In a move aimed at boosting support and inspiring young talent, all invited academy members will enjoy free entry to the match.

Academies wishing to benefit from the free access have been urged to confirm their attendance by Friday at 5:00 PM to ensure their tickets are catered for.

The club says the initiative is part of its commitment to grassroots development while also turning Nyayo into a vibrant home fortress on the continental stage.

The match carries huge significance for Nairobi United, fondly known as the Naibois. As both Kenyan Premier League debutants and CAF Confederation Cup newcomers, the club is seeking to make a strong statement in its maiden group stage campaign.

A win against Azam FC would significantly revive their hopes of reaching the quarter-finals and keep their continental journey alive.

Nairobi United’s CAF adventure has already delivered memorable moments. They edged Uganda’s NEC FC on away goals in the preliminary round before stunning Tunisian giants Etoile Sportive du Sahel in the second preliminary round, winning 7-6 on penalties after a dramatic two-legged tie.

However, the group stage has proved challenging so far, with defeats away to Wydad AC in Morocco and home against AS Maniema Union, leaving them bottom of Group B without a point.

Azam FC also sit on zero points, making Sunday’s clash a pivotal turning point for both sides. With four group matches remaining, Nairobi United must start collecting points to stay in contention.

For the general public, tickets are available exclusively online via the PataTix platform, with sales closing at midnight on Saturday, January 24.

Prices are set at Ksh 500 for VIP and Ksh 200 for regular tickets. Kick-off is at 4:00 PM EAT, with Nyayo set to host a defining afternoon in Nairobi United’s historic continental quest.
