Speaking at Keturo village in Ang'ata Barikoi during the funeral service of Charles Langat, the last of the five to be buried, MP Johanna Ng'eno said that other suspects should he held culpable expeditiously.
"We want the government to arrest all the officers involved in the shooting and they should also trace the weapon used to kill Langat. That is not too much to ask, we are Kenyan citizens and we have the right to life," he said.
Echoing his sentiments, Narok Deputy Governor Tamalinye Koech stressed the need for cohesion to end the long-lasting land tussle
"We cannot accept the police to kill our people in Angata and we appreciate that the police have agreed they will never do that again," he said.
"We are sharing one country, one flag, but we will not share our land. You don't have any right to own our land."
Kilgoris Municipal Chair Michael ole Maito, on his part, called on the government to equally arrest the said suspects in Langat's death and the other 5 with the same zeal used in the probe of the late Kasipul MP Charles Were's murder.
The five were killed on April 28 during protests over a 6,000-acre piece of land in the area as police intervened and tried to disperse the protesters, sparking violence.
Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja has vowed to take decisive action against officers accused of using excessive force during the violent clash.
