Newly signed AFC Leopards striker Andrew Waswa has set his sights on delivering silverware to the club, pledging to use the experience and training he gained in England to propel Ingwe to Kenyan Premier League success this season.
‎Speaking to Citizen Digital, Waswa, who sharpened his skills at the International House of Manchester academy, believes his exposure abroad has prepared him to make an immediate impact in the local top flight. The forward says he is ready to inject pace, creativity, and clinical finishing into AFC Leopards’ attack as the club pushes for the league title.
‎The striker’s arrival comes at a time when Ingwe are keen to strengthen their attacking options in pursuit of domestic dominance. Waswa has made it clear that scoring goals and helping the team secure vital league victories will be his primary focus.
‎"My addition to the squad will help the club in different ways, if you look at the strikers we have, we are all of different qualities. We are more likely to challenge for the trophy," he said.
‎Beyond his ambitions on the pitch, Waswa described joining AFC Leopards as a dream come true. The historic club, fondly known as Ingwe, boasts one of the richest legacies in Kenyan football, and the young forward says wearing the famous blue and white jersey is a privilege.
‎“It has always been my dream to play for a big club like AFC Leopards. I’m happy to be part of a squad with experienced players who can help me grow,” he added.
‎As he begins this new chapter, Waswa is not only focused on club success but also has his eyes on bigger goals. He hopes his performances at AFC Leopards will earn him a call-up to the Harambee Stars national team ahead of 2027 Africa Cup of Nations. In the long term, he dreams of playing in the English Premier League, particularly for Manchester United.
‎"I would love to play in this AFCON, it's something that I've been preparing for. So, hopefully by the time it arrives, I'll be ready and I would also like to bang goals for the country. My European dream has always to play for Manchester United because they play direct football, and my skills are also direct," Waswa added.
‎With ambition, international exposure, and determination on his side, Andrew Waswa could prove to be a key figure in AFC Leopards’ quest for league glory this season.

He is part of Fred Ambani's team that will fly to Mombasa for the Saturday's FKF Premier League clash against Bandari FC.
