One person has died after their boat capsized in the Indian Ocean.
Witnesses said one person remains missing following the incident which happened near Kinondo in Msambweni, Kwale County.
Further reports indicate that at least four people were rescued from the sunken boat.
The boat is said to have been stranded on a reef before being hit by raging waves early morning.
Strong winds are being experienced in some parts of the coastal region and the Indian Ocean, with locals urged to be cautious while at sea.
The incident comes just a week after a man drowned in Diani.
