Police shoot dead Ngong street urchin

Police in Ngong town, Kajiado County on Tuesday night (May 2), shot dead a male street urchin after he allegedly threatened to stab one of the law enforcers with a kitchen knife.

It is alleged that the now-deceased and three of his colleagues had attacked and robbed a reveler of his possessions, when police officers from Ngong station, who were on patrol, cornered them before the now-deceased brandished a kitchen knife while threatening to stab one of the officers.

It is at that point that one of the officers pulled his gun out and fired a shot at the street urchin, killing him on the spot.

The body is at the City mortuary in Nairobi.
