Strong winds continue to cause damage in Kilifi

Strong winds blowing across Kilifi County have continued to cause damage for the third consecutive day.
In Mugandini village, Sabaki ward, Magarini constituency, an 80-year-old grandmother and her 14-year-old granddaughter narrowly escaped after the wind lifted the roof off their house, causing the structure to collapse while they were sleeping late at night.
According to Rodgers Ngala, a neighbor of the elderly woman, the grade 7 pupil saved her grandmother by pulling her out of the house after the roof was blown off by the wind.
In Dzitsoni, Kilifi South the strong winds brought down a tent that provides shade for boda boda riders.
Fortunately, no injuries have been reported from these incidents.
The situation follows a weather warning issued by the Kilifi County Meteorological Department earlier this week.
