Tharaka Nithi: Karigati residents decry lack of electricity

Residents of Karigati in Mukothima Ward peacefully protested to voice their grievances over being neglected in the electricity distribution rollout.

They stated that the area was excluded as some officials wrote a list of villages set to benefit from new transformers.

The residents claim that despite numerous promises from leaders and several meetings requesting connection to the power grid, the village has been left in darkness.

They have urged the government and Kenya Power officials to include them in the development plan.
