Residents in Tharaka, Tharaka-Nithi County have expressed their disappointment due to the shortage of medicine in local health facilities.
Speaking to Citizen Digital, residents said the situation has significantly affected the access to quality healthcare services.
According to the residents, many patients are forced to buy medicine from general shops at the market when public hospitals run out of drugs.
This, according to them, has placed an additional financial burden on them.
They have called on the county government to intervene and establish effective strategies to ensure that local clinics receive medicine on time and in sufficient quantities.
