Young Kuresoi mother arrested after poisoning daughter due to poverty

A 23-year-old woman from Olenguruone, Kuresoi South, Nakuru County is being held at Keringet Police Station over the attempted murder of her four-year-old daughter.
The mother of two is alleged to have poisoned the PP1 pupil over what she termed difficulties trying to fend for her daughter.
According to Kuresoi South Police Commander Jeremy Leariwala, the woman is being probed.
The four year old is recuperating at Olenguruone Subcounty Hospital.

The girl's father said he has been separated from his wife.
He said he had been living with his daughter until recently, when the girl's mother took her, ostensibly to attend a relative's burial, only for him to receive news of the attempted murder.
