Zetech Sparks’ tactician Harriet Fakhir has urged her charges to
fight for the maximum points against Kisumu All Starlets in the Football Kenya
Federation Women Premier League (FKF PWL) match scheduled for Saturday, 21st February,
at Zetech Grounds in Thika.
Fakher, who took over the coaching role at the varsity side in
September 2024, replacing Benard Kitolo Nzioki, had led her side in six wins, four draws, and five losses so far, which leaves them fifth on the log with 22
points.
Kenya Police Bullets are still leading the log with 31 points, one
ahead of second-placed Vihiga Queens, as Ulinzi Starlets and Trinity Starlets lie in third and fourth positions with 29 and 28 points, respectively.
“We thank God that he has guided us throughout the training this
week, and the morale is high in the camp.
“We are going to the match after harvesting one point following
our goalless draw against four-time champions Vihiga Queens last weekend and
we are very charged as we aim for maximum points and I’m urging my girl to be
focused."
“Kisumu is a tough side, and despite lying bottom on the log, they
will be aiming for a win as they fight the relegation threat.
“I don’t have any injuries or doubts, and all my players who got knocks
over the weekend are now okay and ready to face Kisumu on the weekend."
The three include Susan Akoth and Sunira Manda, who were with
the Rising Starlets in the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers, who were
eliminated by Tanzania last weekend and defender Sheryl Muyera, who was dropped
from the Harambee Starlets camp for the 2026 WAFCON tournament.
Other matches on Saturday will see Gideon Starlets fighting
Bungoma Queens at Mawego Polytechnic as Kibera Soccer Ladies will host Soccer
Assassins at Marist University in Karen.
One match will be played on Sunday pitting Kisped Queens and Kayole Starlets at Mamboleo Stadium in Kisumu.
