French-based hospitality Group Accor has
announced it will set up a hotel inside the Maasai Mara.
The
chain is expected to open its first Mantis property in the country by 2024.
Dubbed
the Mantis Masai Mara Eco-Lodge, Accor sees the setup of the hotel as a
highlight for its business as it offers direct access to both the Mara and
Serengeti reserves.
The
new lodge will be located in the Enonkishu Conservancy on the northern boundary
of the Mara-Serengeti game reserve and will feature 20 tented suites, a
restaurant and bar, events space, a sauna and wellness facility.
“The
Masai Mara is one of the most renowned wildlife conservation and wilderness
areas in Africa, and we are excited to offer guests sustainable adventures
which celebrate the region’s culture and stay true to the roots of safari.
We
will provide fresh experiences which enable guests to make authentic
connections with both nature and the people, all whilst supporting sustainability,
conservation and community empowerment and upliftment – the founding core
pillars of Mantis,” said CEO to the Mantis Collection Paul Gardiner.
The
lodge will also feature meeting facilities and outdoor event areas.
