Kaplong Girls closed indefinitely after riot over teacher sexual harassment claims

Kaplong Girls High
School in Bomet County has been closed indefinitely after students went on a rampage
on Saturday night protesting alleged sexual harassment by a section of academic
staff, among other grievances.
Some students sustained
minor injuries following unrest, which also resulted in the destruction of
school property.
According to a police
report, the injured were rushed to St. Claire Kaplong Mission Hospital after a
stampede.
Officers attached to the
Sotik police station rushed to the scene and restored normalcy before they were
released to go home on Sunday morning.
