Dagoretti North Member of Parliament (MP) Beatrice Elachi tragically lost her son Elvis Murakana in March 2025 when he was involved in a road crash while returning home at night.

In an exclusive interview with Citizen Digital, Elachi opened up about Elvis’ death, how it affected her as a mother and leader, and what it means for her family.

Further, the MP talks about her recent run-ins with Kenyans on social media platforms, especially after she threw her support behind President William Ruto, and the deadly Gen Z protests that saw over 60 people killed, some outside Parliament buildings.

Elachi says she has learnt to deal with the bullying, and this no longer disturbs her.

The MP also talks about her constituency, Dagoretti North, and the plans she has for the residents.

Elachi further delves into President William Ruto’s leadership so far, amid opposition from a section of Kenyans and the ongoing protests in Nairobi.
