She is unapologetic about'securing her bag,' a colloquial phrase that has grown in popularity to refer to making money and achieving financial success.

Murugi Munyi has been dubbed one of Kenya's highest-paid influencers, a title she gladly accepts, noting that one of her most lucrative gigs paid $7,500 (Ksh. 969,000 at today's conversion rate) for a single campaign.

While some may call her controversial, which she acknowledges, and she has been "cancelled" numerous times, Murugi claims that people's comments have never stopped her from pursuing her money.

Referring to her early days as a content creator before she monetized her craft, Murugi says people frequently criticized her for paying for her YouTube videos to appear as ads, adding that it was "cringe," but she now says many people want to live the kind of life she does now.

Does she believe that only some people have the ability to thrive as content creators? Murugi says no.

She claims that there is a formula for creating winning, monetizable content, which includes consistency and creating relatable content that is tailored to a specific audience.

Murugi's influencing career has allowed her to live a luxurious lifestyle, including a Land Rover Discovery and monthly self-care appointments costing up to Ksh. 70,000.

So what does it take to be a high-earning influencer?

Watch this week’s episode of She Means Business for tips from an insider.
