Barack Obama wishes wife Michele Obama a heartwarming 60th birthday in sweet online message

The widely-beloved former First Lady hit the big 6-0 and Mr. Obama honored her with a heartwarming post while also sharing a tranquil snap of Mrs. Obama on what appears to be a vacation. 

The photo shows a beaming Michelle Obama barefoot and posing by a pool in a yellow sundress, with the ocean view as the background.

"This is what 60 looks like,” the politician, author and philanthropist wrote. "Happy birthday to my better half — who happens to be one of the funniest, smartest, most beautiful people I know, @MichelleObama. You make every day better. I can’t wait to see what this new decade brings you.”

For her part, Michelle also wished Barack a happy birthday on his big day back in August when he turned 62.

"Happy birthday to my favorite thoughtful guy,” Michelle Obama wrote in a post that was also shared on X. “Love you, always, @BarackObama,” she said, with a snapshot of the ex-president striking a pensive pose. 

Additionally, Obama Foundation supporters also received a birthday-themed email, which encouraged them to share “a note to Barack about how you’re making a difference in your community” or to make “a contribution to the Obama Foundation to help us empower the next generation of leaders and bring the Obama Presidential Center to life."

"Being a part of Barack’s birthday celebration will mean so much to him, so please, leave a note or make a gift today," the message finished.

Since leaving office, Michele Obama has busied herself with a raft of humanitarian activities as well as being at the helm of her and her husband's production company, Higher Grounds. 

Her most recent projects include collaborating with her husband and Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky to lead The Voyager Scholarship - the trio established this incentive to assist college students in broadening their perspectives through travel and making a beneficial impact.

“Barack, @BChesky , and I are so excited to welcome our newest class of Voyagers! These changemakers are making a difference in their communities and we can’t wait to support them along their journeys in public service,” Michelle wrote on X.

In 2022, she launched a collaborative effort featuring the Girls Opportunity Alliance, Gates Foundation, and Clooney Foundation for Justice, in which Michelle, Melinda French Gates, and Amal Clooney traveled to Malawi to spread awareness and fight against child marriage and support women and girls in their pursuit of education.
