President Uhuru Kenyatta was left blushing after
receiving a warm compliment from an anonymous woman in Nakuru.
During the official launch of the Nakuru
Railway Station on Wednesday, the Head of State’s speech was shortly disrupted
after the woman, who was in the crowd shouted, “We love you”.
“You can be employed there, over 25,000
young men and women will be gainfully employed from this county," Uhuru
had said before his speech was interrupted with ‘love flowing in the air’.
In his response President Uhuru said “I
love you too”, leaving the crowd in stitches. The president himself was left
blushing and giggling after sending love back to the woman.
Other than the light moment, another woman
who had for long been seeking the attention of the Head of State finally got to
talk to him.
Susan Wamboi told Uhuru that she longed to
meet him, and requested him to pay her school fees and help her with business capital.
In his tour of Nakuru County, Uhuru also drummed
up support for Azimio la Umoja Presidential candidate Raila Odinga, saying he unite Kenyans and achieve peace.
In a thinly-veiled
attack at his deputy William Ruto, Uhuru said that there is need for maturity
before being entrusted to lead the country.
"Hawa wengine ni
wetu lakini inakaa they need time ya kutulia, kuwacha matusi, kuwacha spidi
mingi na kujua ya kwamba kazi na ukweli inashinda matusi na chuki,"
President Uhuru said.
"Let them stay
like that for now, there is still time, and there is no problem."
