Musician Stevo Simple Boy has come out to speak on his ex-girlfriend Pritty Vishy’s recent declaration that her dowry price has now shot up to Ksh.2 million.

Vishy, during a recent viral interview with YouTuber Nicholas Kioko, caused a storm after she said she’s not keen on getting cows as dowry, suggesting that suitors could buy her a car instead.

"My dowry is two million na mtu asijaribu kuniletea ng’ombe, sitaki ng’ombe inaletwa ati nasukuma…mimi ni two million and that's it, na kama mtu anataka kuleta ng’ombe, basi hiyo pesa ununue gari," she said.

Stevo, in an interview with Ramogi TV on Friday, however termed Vishy’s dowry demands as too outrageous and unrealistic.

The Kibera-bred rapper said that even he cannot pay the said amount for her hand in marriage due to the current cost of living in the country.

The ‘Mihadarati’ hitmaker further revealed that it was Vishy’s huge demands for the good life that led to their break up.

“With the current economic status, it’s impossible to pay such an amount for a dowry…True love is not driven by money but from the heart,” he said.

“I loved her (Vishy) but you know ladies, they always say ‘I can’t be with this man because he has no money.’ She, therefore, opted to look for another man with a lot of money more than me.”

Following their split, Stevo now says he is single and open to getting into another relationship should he get the right woman.

“Right now I am looking for a simple and loyal lady. I don’t want to date someone who wants to be with me because I am an artiste but for someone who loves me for who I am. I want a ‘kienyeji’, these ladies from Nairobi are troublesome,” said the ‘Freshi barida’ hitmaker.
