4 Escape Death In Lorry Accident

Their vehicle plunged into the swelling river Kingwal in Karlel area Nandi County.

The Lorry which was ferrying milk for farmers from Kaptildil to Kapsabet veered of the road as it was crossing a bridge.

The heavy rains experienced in the area have rendered roads and bridges impassable thus making life difficult for the locals.

Residents attributed the accident to lack of commitment by the county government of Nandi to prioritize road infrastructure.

Samwel Tanui one of the residents, said that the bridge is a death trap where several lives have been lost in the past.

School going children are said to have abandoned school for the fear of being swept away by the river.   

Residents also blamed the Nandi County government for failing to construct safe bridges to connect various villages in the area.

They are now appealing to National government to intervene so as to avert more deaths and accidents.
