Chinese pilot suspended over photo of woman in cockpit

A Chinese pilot has been grounded after a photo of a woman inside the cockpit emerged on social media raising safety concerns.

In the photo that was posted on social media platform Weibo, she is seen seated inside the cockpit while the Air Gianlin plane is still midair.

Her caption reads: ”Super thankful to the pilot! I am really so excited.”

The photo was first spotted by a Chinese blogger who expressed his concerns on safety rules opening the floodgates to public outrage.

Most of them wondered how a professional pilot could allow such a thing to happen as it could put passengers at risk.

According to CNN, Air Gianlin confirmed that the incident and said the captain had been suspended.

The rest of the crew is said to have also been suspended pending investigations.

Air Gianlin in its statement also affirmed that the safety of its passengers is of utmost priority adding that it does not condone unprofessional acts.

The lady in the photo was identified as a student at Gianlin Tourism University.

She is apparently studying to become a flight attendant.

It has not yet been established whether she has a relationship with the pilot.

The incident with the Chinese pilot is however not isolated.

It is reported that other pilots have in the past gone against regulations and invited passengers to the cockpit midair.
