Fire Destroys Kisumu’s Jubilee Market

The 3AM fire gutted down stores and stalls in the busy market.

No fatality was reported in the early morning fire.

According to a watchman guarding the market, the fire was triggered by an electric fault.

All the six stores constructed using iron sheets were reduced to ashes.

Nothing was salvaged from the raging fire.

Kevin Rawo, a tenant who was returning from work in the wee hours accused the Kisumu Fire Brigade of taking longer to act.

The traders appealed to the County Government to compensate them as it failed to combat the fire leading to huge losses

Kisumu Central OCPD Musa Kongoli blamed the manner in which the structures were constructed adding that it aided the fire in spreading out fast.
