Photos: Garissa–Malindi road cut off after floods

Motorists have been warned against using the Garissa – Malindi Highway after a section of the road was washed away.

According to the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA), heavy rains experienced in Kitui over the weekend, destroyed the Madogo–Bura Road.

Road users have been urged to seek alternative routes or stop their journey until the water levels subside.

“KeNHA will undertake remedial works in order to restore traffic along the highway once the water levels subside. We urge all motorists to exercise caution during this rainy season being experienced in various parts of the country,” a statement from the authority said.
