Funeral underway for Senior Sergeant killed in KDF chopper crash

The burial of Senior Sergeant John Kinyua Muriithi, who died in a helicopter crash two weeks ago, is currently underway in Kirinyaga County.

The interment is being held at Kirimunge Primary School ground.

Muriithi is one of ten military personnel who died in the helicopter crash at the Sindar area in Elgeyo Marakwet County on April 18, 2024.

Only two military officers survived the crash which also claimed the life of Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Francis Ogolla.

The deceased were; Brigadier Swale Saidi, Colonel Duncan Keittany, Lieutenant Colonel David Sawe, Major George Benson Magondu (Pilot), Captain Sora Mohamed, Captain Hillary Litali, Senior Sergeant John Kinyua Mureithi, Sergeant Cliphonce Omondi, and Sergeant Rose Nyawira.
