Gospel artiste Emmy Kosgei's father seeks to succeed Gideon Moi as Baringo Senator

Bishop Jackson Kosgei, the father of gospel artiste Emmy Kosgei, is set tp contest for Baringo Senatorial seat in the upcoming August General Election.

Bishop Kosgei will be seeking to succeed current Baringo Senator and KANU Party leader Gideon Moi on a UDA Party ticket.

Sources within KANU told Citizen TV that Gideon Moi is not likely to defend the seat.

Gospel Artiste Emmy Kosgei took to social media on Monday to drum up support for her father whom she described as a resilient, determined man with a vision.

She urged voters to support her father in the upcoming party nominations for him to clinch the UDA Party ticket

"Tell someone to tell some #VOTE #VOTE #NOMINATE #BISHOPJACKSONKOSGEI AS the #2ndSENETOR of #BARINGOCOUNTY and for the first time representing minority communities in Baringo. His candidature is good for representation in diverse county. let's support /vote and keep him in prayer!"she said in a long Instagram post.

Bishop Jackson Kosgei previously served as chairman of the Kenya Film Classification Board.
