The man was saved from losing his belongings to the woman who had just stupefied his drink by the quick response of bartenders at a popular joint in Kenol, Murang'a county.
According to a police report obtained by Citizen Digital, the man walked to Small Villa Gardens in Kenol on Sunday evening, accompanied by a woman with whom he had several drinks and made merry.
Around 11 p.m., the man passed out, and the observant waiters noticed his woman companion gathering his belongings, which included ATM cards, identification cards, and cell phones.
They alerted their manager, who contacted the Officer Commanding Kenol Police Station, who arrived quickly.
The man was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, while the woman, Alice Wangechi, 37, was arrested and charged with stupefying charges at the Kenol police station, and the man's documents were recovered from her.
Wangechi was apprehended after DCI's Comms detectives published an expose on this page warning men in rural areas about an influx of women whose drinks lacing business had suffered in the city and were now scavenging in local pubs for easy prey.
Tamuu, the drug used to spike drinks, is a depressant used to treat mental patients that has negative side effects, particularly when administered to men who have pre-existing medical conditions such as high blood pressure.
