Presidential hopeful Walter "Nyambane" Mong'are had a dream of being the fifth president of this great republic. Last week, he took a step closer to realising it when he was cleared by IEBC to contest as president in August.

Nyambane, the Umoja Summit Party presidential candidate, had grand plans if he managed to beat out Raila Odinga and William Ruto. His first order of business, throw a party in the first 100 days.

But Mong'are will now tuck his syrupy promise back to his crafty box, at least for another five years after the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) revoked his nomination certificate over lack of a degree certificate.

The 45-year-old, speaking in an interview, argued that he would need the first 100 days to "enjoy himself" and take time to redefine the promises to attainable commitments.

According to Nyambane, most leaders are giving impractical promises to Kenyans then fail to deliver upon being elected, contrary to his plan.

"When we get to office, in the first 100 days we will have a party just to enjoy ourselves and to redefine the documents that we have been flying around as manifestos and within that time we turn them into commitments," said Nyambane in an interview with Spice FM.

"There will be comedy and entertainment. And we will create employment for people in the entertainment sector."

The revocation came after Safina Party presidential aspirant Jimi Wanjigi’s  bid was earlier in the day dismissed over the same issue, following which Mr. Wanjigi faulted the electoral body for clearing Mr. Mong'are who reportedly had a transcript just like him.
