Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa has come out to endorse Former Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya for the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party leader position.

Speaking in Shinyalu Constituency, Kakamega County, while distributing affordable fertilizers, the governor asserted that Deputy Party leader Oparanya is the rightful ‘loyal’ leader to succeed Raila Odinga’s ODM Party leader position once he gets the Africa Union Commission (AUC) chairmanship.

“Raila once you acquire the AUC position the only loyal deputy party leader we would like to take over as the ODM party leader is none other than Wycliffe Oparanya,” the governor asserted.

He maintained that Oparanya would unite the western region and all ODM supporters.

Barasa further affirmed that the Western region and ODM Party leaders will continue to throw their support behind Odinga’s candidature.

“As the leaders of the Western region and ODM party leaders we continue to support Raila’s AUC chairman bid,” said Barasa.
