The event brought together over 60 Chinese and Kenyan enterprises, offering more than 1,700 job opportunities for Kenyan youth.
At the event, KCETA President Li Changgui hailed the fair as a “powerful symbol of the ever-deepening and results-oriented cooperation between China and Kenya.”
He noted that KCETA’s 104 member companies have aligned their growth with Kenya’s Vision 2030, contributing significantly to infrastructure development, skills training, and employment generation.
“Chinese enterprises are actively responding to Kenya’s call for youth empowerment and sustainable industrial growth,” said KCETAPresident. “We are not just investing in projects, but in people and their future.”
During the job fair, Deputy President Kithure Kindiki said the government is enhancing partnerships with global technology companies to create more job opportunities for the youth.
“We have to empower young people to realise their present and future dreams. Technology must be at the heart of finding solutions to job creation and opportunities. IT companies like Huawei hold the future of young people in Kenya and around the world,” he said.
“Closer ties between the public and private sector can drive Kenya’s progress faster and we can reach our desired destination earlier and with less difficulties.”
According to KCETA, in just the past two years (2022–2023), Chinese companies in Kenya employed over 60,000 local staff, with a localisation rate exceeding 90%.
“We aim to build an open, transparent, and vibrant platform where Kenyan youth can pursue their career dreams,” the President affirmed.
KCETA further committed to strengthening partnerships between companies and academic institutions, expanding upskilling and career development programs, and promoting inclusive and merit-based hiring.
