Kericho County Assembly Speaker Dr. Patrick Mutai has expressed fears that his life could be in danger after a mysterious vehicle allegedly trailed him to his residence in Nakuru for two days.

Speaking outside the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) offices in Nakuru, Dr. Mutai said unknown persons reportedly asked for his residence and tracked his movements.

“When I alighted at my home, the unknown persons attempted to gain entry into my home but were repulsed by my security, it's an incident that is traumatizing,” he said.

Some Kericho MCAs who accompanied him to the DCI offices said the incident read from a similar script to those of disappearances that have been witnessed in the country in the recent past.

“We don’t know why such an incident happened, people should not go to such extremes if there is such motivation,” said Londiani MCA Vincent Korir.

Nakuru East sub-county Criminal Investigations Officer George Momanyi said they have commenced a probe into the incident.
