Kibwezi man who went hiding after impregnating a student he was sponsoring arrested

Police in Kibwezi, Makueni County have arrested a 60-year-old man who had gone into hiding after defiling and impregnating a student from Kyaani High School.
The suspect, who had been sponsoring the minor’s education expenses had been hiding since January. This was after he took the minor through a failed abortion procedure.
He went into hiding after the case was reported in the media until he was arrested on Saturday night in Tassia area, Nairobi.
Kibwezi police commander Joram Maina said the man is in custody, awaiting arraignment on Monday.
“We arrested him and immediately brought him back to Kibwezi. You can try hiding but in the end you will be caught and will have to pay for your sins,” Maina said.
A nurse who attempted to procure an abortion on the minor had been arraigned and was released on a Ksh.500,000 bail.
