Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) is set to dispose 253 unclaimed bodies, among them those of 239 children.

The bodies of children lying at the facility include 132 boys and 107 girls.

Among the children are five sets of twins and a set of quadruplets. A fourth quadruplet's body is also lying at the morgue.

In a notice in local dailies, KNH urged members of the public to identify the unclaimed bodies.

The hospital issued a 14-day ultimatum after which it will seek authority from the courts to dispose of the bodies.

The management at KNH noted that bodies of 13 unidentified adults are also lying at its farewell home.

They include eleven male and 2 female bodies. The body of a man identified as Cheptale Aruwalo Nalel was also listed.
