Ksh.2.3M stolen after robbers raid bank at Westside Mall in Nakuru

According to a police report filed by the bank’s branch manager, the five stormed into the banking hall wielding a homemade gun, hammer, knives and a panga; and took hostage the nine staff members on duty.
The thugs reportedly directed them into the toilets and locked them inside, then began ransacking the cash drawers.
It is estimated that Ksh.2.3 million was stolen in the robbery.
A bank teller who sustained injuries after being hit with a hammer has been treated and discharged.
Police have meanwhile recovered a homemade gun, hammer, mobile phone and a Ksh.1,000 note from the scene.
