Man who went missing inside Chuyulu Hills National Park part found dead

The body of a middle-aged man who went missing on Thursday inside Chyulu Hills National Park in Makueni County has been found and taken to Makindu Hospital morgue.
According to reports, the deceased had gone to the park to pick miraa which grows at the top of Chyulu Hills in the company of a colleague when they were attacked by an elephant and the colleague managed to escape.
The survivor reported the matter but Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) rangers are reported to have declined to launch a search, prompting area residents to protest.
Makueni Senator Daniel Maanzo had warned residents against entering the park for it poses a greater risk to their lives.
It took interventions from leaders for KWS officers to agree to look for the body.
