Motorists urged to use alternative routes as flooding hits Eldama Ravine–Maji Mazuri–Molo road

KenHA has issued a traffic advisory warning motorists of flooding at Molo River along the Eldama Ravine–Maji Mazuri–Molo Road, saying the affected section is unsafe for motorable traffic.
In the notice dated March 21, 2026, the authority said the flooding was caused by heavy rainfall in upstream catchment areas, leading to a significant rise in water levels.
KenHA urged motorists to exercise caution and follow instructions from police officers and traffic marshals on site.
It advised road users to consider alternative routes where travel is unavoidable:
• Eldama Ravine–Mogotio–Salgaa–Nakuru
• Eldama Ravine–Kabarinet–Marigat–Mogotio
• Nakuru–Salgaa–Ravine (for motorists approaching from Nakuru)
KenHA said it is monitoring the situation and will take appropriate action should water levels continue to rise.
