Pastor Ezekiel's followers hold prayers outside Shanzu court

This is as pastor Ezekiel is set to appear in court today to know whether he will be released on bail or detained as the prosecution requested. 

The preacher was arrested on Thursday and detained amid investigations into fraud, money laundering, murder, aiding suicide, radicalization, crimes against humanity, and child cruelty.

His followers now say that they will camp outside the court premises with praise songs and chants, praying for their preacher who was arrested for allegations that they say are slanderous.

In a miscellaneous application on Friday, the police said intelligence information has established several deaths within the precincts of New Life Prayer Centre and Church and were reported at Kilifi Police Station between last year and this year.

Police say that there is credible information linking him to the bodies exhumed at the Shakahola land in Malindi, Kilifi County.
