Police launch hunt for man who hacked ex-wife in Makueni

A 29-year-old woman is presently receiving treatment at the Makindu sub-county hospital in Makueni County after she was reportedly attacked by her ex-husband.

Abigail told Citizen Digital that the Sunday morning attack left her nursing serious head and hand injuries.

She said she parted ways with the suspect - Michael Kamunzyu - five months ago but has been receiving death threats from him ever since.

According to Abigail, Kamunzyu stormed her house on the said day armed with a panga and locked the door behind him, before proceeding to hack her.

Neighbours responded to her cries of help and broke the door and managed to rescue her, then rushed her to the hospital for medical aid.

Police officers are presently hunting the suspect who managed to escape after the incident and is now on the run.
