PS Oluga urges stronger partnerships to drive healthcare technology adoption

The Principal Secretary for Medical Services, Dr Ouma Oluga, has called for stronger collaboration to harness technology in transforming Kenya’s healthcare systems.

Oluga spoke on Thursday in Nairobi when he officially opened the 5th Smart Summit 2026, held under the theme “Healthcare Technology for a Better World.”

The forum has brought together stakeholders from the public and private health sectors to explore technology-driven solutions aimed at improving healthcare delivery.

In his keynote address, the PS emphasised partnerships as key to advancing innovation and strengthening health systems, pointing to areas including investment, governance and regulation, capacity building, system integration and public-private collaboration.

He said the government remains committed to promoting citizen-centred solutions and inclusive policy development to improve access, efficiency and the quality of healthcare services.
